英漢語中顏色的詞語其涵義及翻譯
英漢語中某些顏色的詞語，在平時的運用中其客觀色彩意義已經(jīng)淡化，而常用來表示不同的喻義。我們應當注意這類英漢詞語的異同之外，還應注意這類顏色詞不能直譯，所以當我們使用這些詞匯時，應特別留意其涵義及翻譯，才能達到正確動用之目的。

1) 英語中的“white”其涵義可表示純潔、美好、善意、合法、公平、幸福、輕輕的、政治上反動等，如：

當我們使用這類詞時應很好地領會其涵義。斟酌其用法，切莫望之生意。
綜上所述，我們不難看出顏色詞使用廣泛，除了其色彩意義外，還有許多抽象的象征意義，就其象征意義而言，英漢顏色詞有不少相同之處，但不同之處更多，同時可以看出，這類詞語所表達的文化內涵皆與本國的社會文化思想息息相關。因此，探究這類詞語對于豐富語言知識、正確運用各類詞匯大有益處。
基本顏色詞
對自然界中存在的基本顏色的認知是一致的，如"赤橙黃綠青藍紫”在英語中大多都能找到對應的表達。

實物顏色詞
實物本身具有突出醒目的顏色，其名稱不但可以代表該實物，還可以指稱一種顏色，這類詞叫做實物顏色詞。
實物顏色詞可以使語言表達具體準確、形象生動，能描繪出基本顏色詞難以描繪的濃淡明暗不同的色調，因而使用頻率也較高。
